“Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson is reportedly standing by the controversial statements he made in the January issue of “GQ” magazine.
According to “The Daily Mail,” the reality star made a speech at a small Bible study group in Louisiana on Sunday.
In the speech, Robertson continued his discussion of “sexual sins,” admitting that he has “a few himself.”
“I am just reading what was written over 2,000 years ago. Those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom,” he said (via “Daily Mail”). “All I did was quote from the scriptures, but they just didn’t know it… But you love them more than you fear them, so you tell them.”
Robertson allegedly added that Jesus “will take sins away,” whether you’re “a homosexual,” “an adulterer” or “a liar.”
The star also seemed surprised by the controversy to begin with, stating that this is not the first time he has talked about this, asking, “Are you kidding? I have been traveling to and fro spreading this message.”
Though he was suspended from “Duck Dynasty,” A&E will continue to air several marathons of the show over the holiday.
Crack Barrel has since apologized for pulling “Duck Dynasty”-themed products and have returned the lineup to the shelves.
