Demi Lovato needs to give her heart a break from FOX’s “The X Factor.”
Both she and Simon Cowell confirmed the news Wednesday night, according to "The Hollywood Reporter."
"I always knew she wasn't coming back because she's touring, so I knew that," Cowell explained.
Lovato added that she's excited to beg back to simply being a musician instead of being a judge.
"I started the show being a singer and a musician, and so I'm going back to that," she said. "It's been really great, but I'm so excited for 2014. I'm going to dedicate it completely and entirely to music -- touring and making a new album. Possibly releasing one."
“People” first reported that the singer will leave the singing competition series after two seasons as a judge.
The ex-Disney star's last appearance will be on the two-night finale, which concludes on Thursday, December 19.
Lovato, 21, has already announced her Neon Lights Tour, which will kick off in February. She recently revealed plans to take January off to vacation after her “X Factor” duties, her book promotion and her recurring “Glee” role come to a close.
Though the show’s future is in jeopardy after a ratings slump, Simon Cowell insisted this week that the show would be back in some form next year.
