Through all of the death and destruction in “Pompeii,” the story is at its core a love story.
As Milo, Kit Harington (“Game of Thrones”) thinks he’s found his match in a royal played by Emily Browning, but when the legendary volcano erupts, their lives are thrown into chaos.
The new trailer (via CinemaBlend) also shows the introduction of Milo and the character played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (“Lost”), who joins forces with him as they fight to save Milo’s wife.
“Pompeii” also stars Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”), Jessica Lucas (“Evil Dead”), Jared Harris (“Mad Men”) and Kiefer Sutherland.
The film has been compared to the forthcoming “300” sequel, “300: Rise of an Empire,” and it’s not unlike another warrior tale set for release in early 2014, “The Legend of Hercules,” which stars “Twilight” franchise star Kellan Lutz.
“Pompeii” hits theaters in 3D on February 21, 2014. How does it compare to its competition? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
