MTV is handing out good news all over the place this week.
First, Deadline reports that the cable network has opted to double the order for its flagship comedy “Awkward,” bringing season 4 up to 20 episodes.
The show, which stars Ashley Rickards, is currently finishing up the back half of its similarly 20-episode third season.
The network has also announced the launch of a new “all access” artist campaign, which will begin on Tuesday.
According to Billboard, “MTV Presents: Up Close and Personal with Britney Jean” comes in the vein of their classic contests like Madonna’s “Make My Video” contest.
The first special in the series will center on Britney Spears, who will promote her new LP “Britney Jean” with a contest to win a two-day trip to Las Vegas that includes front row seats to her “Britney: Piece of Me’ show at Planet Hollywood.
“Awkward” airs Tuesdays at 10:30pm with a special one-hour episode this week. Are you excited about more “Awkward”? What do you think of “Up Close & Personal”? Weigh in below!
