The first trailer for Lifetime’s “Flowers in the Attic” has been unveiled, and the latest adaptation of the V.C. Andrews novel looks as terrifying as ever.
After her husband died, a single mother (Heather Graham) brings her children to live with her parents, her mother played by Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn.
According to “TV Guide,” “Mad Men” star Kiernan Shipka plays the eldest daughter, who along with her three siblings, is exiled to their grandmother’s attic.
The disturbing story is based on the 1979 novel of the same name, and based on the trailer, the film will touch on the incestuous relationship between the two oldest children.
The original 1987 adaptation of the film starred Kristy Swanson (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Victoria Tennant and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” actress Louise Fletcher.
“Flowers in the Attic” is set to air on Saturday, January 18 on Lifetime. What do you think of the update?
