NBC has not had a great deal of luck in the comedy department this year, so they’re going back to two of their most reliable resources: Tina Fey and “The Office.”

Those two things are coming together in a new series that has just received a 13-episode series order, with Fey and her “30 Rock” co-creator Robert Carlock behind the scenes.

“Office” fan fave Ellie Kemper will star in the untitled single-camera comedy, which is set to debut on the Peacock next fall, according to “The Hollywood Reporter.”

Per “THR,” she will play a woman “who escapes from a doomsday cult and starts life over in New York City.”

“Original voices like Tina and Robert don’t come along very often and we wanted them back on the air as soon as possible,” NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke said. “And to have them working with Ellie Kemper – who we watched grow up on ‘The Office’ form supporting player to leading actress – puts the whole package together.”

NBC appears to be having a strong development season with comedy, as they have snagged projects starring both Meg Ryan and Susan Sarandon.
