Season 11 "American Idol" champ Phillip Phillips has released a third single from his debut album "The World From the Side of the Moon."
"Where We Came From" follows the Top 10 "Home" and "Gone, Gone, Gone," both of which are certified platinum and hit No. 1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. Phillips gave us the lowdown on how the new single came to be:
"I was going in the studio, like, last summer, and I had these ideas, the beginning riff of the song. It's kinda funky...Me and this guy named John Green, we got in the studio together and just got to know each other first. Then we started writing and we were in the studio no longer than an hour and we wrote that song together. I showed him my ideas and we just kinda grew from there and we both just rearranged it and wrote all the lyrics. It's a cool experience. It was very fast; like I said, we wrote it in less than an hour. I think it's just a great song."
Fans will hear plenty of the song when Phillips kicks off a new U.S. tour on November 7 in York, Pa., before starting a fresh round of dates opening for John Mayer on November 19 in Moline, Ill.
