Charlie Hunnam
has broken his silence on his much-debated departure from the upcoming “Fifty Shades of Grey” film adaptation.

In an interview with E! News, the “Sons of Anarchy” star said he made his decision based on both personal and professional reasons.

“I have had some family stuff going on so just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work,” he said, later adding, “So when I wrap the show, I am going to England to see my people.”

E! notes that the star’s father passed away earlier this year, and he has been traveling back to the U.K. to spend more time with his family.

Hunnam also teased an upcoming reunion on a project with Guillermo Del Toro, who directed the actor in this summer’s “Pacific Rim,” and teased an extended final run for his hit FX series.

“There’s rumor that we might do a couple of more episodes and do a little bit of an extended season next year, so we will see if that happens. It may or it may not,” he said. “But I just want to finish that strong and go on to a new chapter in life.”
