With Halloween just around the corner, October is the obvious month for all things spooky.
So it’s no surprise that Lionsgate has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming “I, Frankenstein,” which stars Aaron Eckhart (“The Dark Knight”) as the iconic monster from Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.”
“I, Frankenstein” is a unique take on the classic novel, set in a dystopia in which “vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demos rage in a battle for ultimate power,” according to the official description.
As Frankenstein’s monster, Eckhart is a far cry from the slow-moving, silent creature often seen in popular culture.
Instead, he is a talking, fast moving action hero who might find love with blonde heroine Terra (Yvonne Strahovski, “Dexter”).
The movie, which was adapted from a graphic novel of the same name, stars Bill Nighy, Jai Courtney (“A Good Day to Die Hard”) and Miranda Otto (“Lord of the Rings” trilogy).
“I Frankenstein” hits theaters on January 24, 2014.
