With the fall TV season in full swing, the final decisions are coming down on the last wave of yet-to-be-renewed summer series.
Among the lucky shows getting a reprieve this year are USA’s hit “Covert Affairs.” The Piper Perapo-starring series has been renewed for a 16-episode fifth season to debut in 2014, according to “The Hollywood Reporter.”
Joining “Mistresses” and “Rookie Blue” next summer will be the sophomore season of “Motive,” a low-cost Canadian import starring Kristin Lehman ("The Killing") that had modest ratings but has already been renewed on CTV.
FX gave “Wilfred” fans both good news and bad news, giving the show a fourth and final season, which will move to their sibling network, FXX, next summer.
Since it couldn’t all be good news, the cancellation axe has fallen on NBC’s “Camp,” which starred Rachel Griffiths as a counselor at a summer camp.
Though the series got off to a decent ratings start, viewing steadily declined throughout the show’s 10-episode first season.
