The body of former child star Lee Thompson Young was discovered in Los Angeles this morning.
According to TMZ, the “Rizzoli & Isles” actor’s landlord entered his home after being notified that he had failed to report to work in the morning.
Young, who played the title character in Disney’s “The Famous Jett Jackson,” was found “with a gunshot wound that appears to be self-inflicted.”
His publicist confirmed the news, telling TMZ, "It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning... Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be missed."
After “Jett Jackson” ended, the young actor starred as Cyborg on “Smallville” and ABC’s short-lived “FlashForward.”
In 2010, Young landed the role of Detective Barry Frost on TNT’s recently-renewed “Rizzoli & Isles,” opposite series stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.
