Rumors have surfaced that “Transformers 4” is about to get prehistoric.
MTV News interviewed the mega-franchise’s new star, Mark Wahlberg, about his new action film “2 Guns,” the conversation took an interesting turn when Wahlberg’s role in the upcoming fourth installment, the first “Transformers” film not to feature Shia LaBeouf.
Wahlberg got a bit touchy when interviewer Josh Horowitz began to grill him about the possibility of the fan-favorite Dinobots featuring into the new film.
“None of your business,” he said when asked. “You don’t want me to get replaced halfway through production for divulging secrets.”
According to MTV, Dinobots are “characters who change into robotic dinosaurs as opposed to vehicles.”
Wahlberg would confirm that “Transformers 4” will feel different from the previous three, largely because his character, a single dad, offers a fresh perspective for the long-running franchise.
“Obviously, it’s a really interesting dynamic, being a young, single dad having a teenage daughter, trying to succeed as an inventor, having very little means and also trying to provide for my family,” Wahlberg said. “Then all hell breaks loose.”
“Transformers 4” is set for a June 27 release.
