Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Set Wedding Date

December 15, 2017

It seems that people are either fascinated by the Royal Family or they could less. Maybe more people are going to take an interest in the next Royal Wedding with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because she's is a US actress turned Princess.

The Royal Family officially announced the date that Harry and Meghan are set to wed earlier today on Twitter.

"Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are delighted that the beautiful grounds of Windsor Castle will be where they begin their lives together as a married couple," Kensington Palace press secretary Jason Knauf said Nov. 28, when they announced it as their wedding venue.

I know my mother and grandmother were obsessed with Princess Diana. I remember watching her wedding on TV with my mom and gram as a very young girl in 1981. 750 million people tuned in all over the World to watch the royal nuptials between Prince Charles and Lady Diana. Just imagine what the viewership may have been on the day of live internet streams?

Harry and Meghan's wedding will be televised and live streamed on Youtube, Facebook, etc. I wonder how their viewership will compare to Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding in 2011? Their wedding had over 2 billion people watching from 180 countries according to the Telegraph. Their wedding was also mentioned over 2.8 billion times in status updates on Facebook in the US and the UK.

Social media has grown so much since 2011, the last Royal Wedding. My prediction is that Harry and Meghan's wedding will smash Royal Wedding viewership records with all of the live streaming services on line and on social media. Plus, I think since Meghan is a divorced, mixed race American there's going to be a lot more interest too.

Will you be tuning into the wedding in May? I know I'll be watching for work purposes and maybe some personal interest too.
