WATCH: Jimmy Fallon's Emotional Tribute to His Late Mother Just Days After Her Death

November 14, 2017

Jimmy Fallon returned to the Tonight Show on Monday for the first time since his mother, Gloria Fallon, died a little more than a week ago.

Jimmy teared up as he sat the Tonight Show desk to recall holding his mom’s hand in her hospital before her death. He said he remembered holding his mom’s hand when he was little, and she would say “I love you.”

"And last week, I was in the hospital and I grabbed her hand and squeezed, 'I love you,' and I just knew we were in trouble,” he said.

Fallon canceled the show's taping on Friday, November 3 to be with his mother in the hospital. She passed away later that weekend, and the Tonight Show canceled tapings last week as Fallon was with his family.

The 43-year-old comedian ended last night's segment with an emotional message for his late mother.

"Mom, I'll never stop trying to make you laugh, I love you,” he said before continuing on with the show.
