You’d think watching the Olympics would inspire people to eat healthily and maybe even hit the gym. But it seems the opposite was true during this summer’s London Games. The average person (in the UK at least) gained more than four pounds during the Olympics, consuming 700 extra calories each day in snacks and drinks. Many people attended parties and celebrations, where they indulged in booze, fatty foods and sweets. They also probably skipped their regular workouts so as not to miss their favorite events. Now that the games are over, Olympic athletes are treating themselves to all the delicious foods they had to avoid while training…hopefully their fans don’t do the same!
